Elmhurst Youth Baseball (EYB) is the OFFICIAL Little League Baseball non-profit organization in Elmhurst, Illinois. EYB offers Spring and Fall leagues, player development clinics and the areas best Travel baseball program, Elmhurst Extreme.
In an attempt to further develop the players who are looking for more baseball, EYB is extending the opportunity for non-full-time travel players to participate in our Sunday League. In addition, we will be having 8u Part-Time tryouts. (Extreme, Explosion, Cougars, Electric or any other travel teams are excluded to allow other EYB participants to further develop their baseball knowledge and skills)
8u teams will play in either the Mid-Suburban Baseball League (MSBL) and/or the Chicagoland Sunday Baseball League. 10u-14u will play in the Chicagoland Sunday Baseball League.
Any player selected to participate in the Sunday program as well as the 8U program is required to be registered in EYB standard baseball programs.
Players who make one of our teams can expect the following:
- A winter workout plan consisting of professional instruction and weekly workouts in January thru March - Participation in a league where games will be scheduled against other nearby organizations. - Participation in 1 or more baseball tournaments which involves a full weekend of competitive baseball. - And tons of fun!
We require all players who make one of our part-time travel teams to also register and play in the appropriate EYB house program.
Age cutoff: Both the MSBL and Chicagoland Sunday Baseball League have May 1st as the birthday cutoff date. For example, if your player is trying out for 10u, then they cannot turn 11 before May 1st, 2022.
Cost: $600-$700 per player
Tryouts will be held on October 3rd, 2021 at Berens Field
Teams will practice, approximately 1 hour per week, from January through March.
Our hope is that this will give those families interested in their child playing more baseball at a higher level the ability to do so. As you might have guessed, this will require time and financial commitment, so we ask that you please take that into consideration when trying out.
EYB Families - In the event of wet weather in the forecast, EYB will be working with the Park District to assess each field. Decisions will be made late in the afternoon to try to allow the EYB and Park District every opportunity to get fields ready.
Managers should not be canceling any games until they hear from either EYB or their respective League Commissioners.
